Company Profile and Project Description
This project has the purpose of engaging in the provision of scheduled and non-scheduled passenger and cargo air services within Ghana and the rest of the world with a medium-term plan of commencing services from Ghana to points in West Africa and South Africa. This is in view of the emerging opportunities within the aviation sector, coupled with the challenges facing the sector.
A due diligence study undertaken at the request of the project sponsor-Airfutures Ltd- to assess the viability of the business established that significant market exists to support this operation‟s profitability, even in the formative years.
The air transport sector in Ghana, having experienced good growth over the past decade with volumes up for domestic and international markets, is poised for further expansion as the country continues to develop and diversify, moving towards middle income status. International passenger numbers have increased consistently from 926600 in 2006 to 1555600 in 2011 and the domestic market is also flourishing (as domestic passengers grew by 50.3% in 2011) whilst the sub-regional market, which is one of the fastest growing but yet underdeveloped, is projected to grow at an average of 4%-6% per year over the next decade (International Air Transport Association).
Air Futures is a wholly owned Ghanaian registered company, which is desirous of introducing improved air transport services into Ghana and the West African Sub-region. The company is presenting a team with rich experience, knowledge and understanding of the aviation industry and business development opportunities in West Africa.
