[Lot 5: Upgrading of Oseikwadwokrom – Benchema (73.3km)]
Project Background
The Oseikwadwokrom-Benchema Road is 73.3 km. It is unpaved with deplorable states in most sections. The majority of the population in the influence areas are engaged in the production of stable crops such as maize, rice, cassava, yam, etc. and rearing of cattle.
The project objectives entail:
Fostering and facilitating socio-economic development and integration within Ghana and the West Africa Sub- region
Enhancing economic activities and also improving the standard of living of the people in the influence areas thereby contributing to Government‟s effort of bringing development and reducing poverty in the in the Western and Brong Ahafo Regions of the country.
Project Scope
The road will be upgraded to 2-Lane single carriageway Asphaltic Concrete Surface and will be designed to comprise the following:
Construction of a single carriageway including its associated drainage structures
improvement of the alignment at the poor sections
Demolition and replacing weak and damaged culverts
Deepening existing drains in shallow areas and construction of new ones etc.

Pre-feasibility studies- Fully undertaken -Master Plan-Yet to be undertaken
